Thank you for the comprehensive explaintion.
I use I2C for years, mainly on 8051 family MCUs because of the convenience to interface with many devices on the same bus. The protocol is really simple and robust – I never had trouble with it. The code is compact, so I use it even in small devices such as AT89C2051.
All I2C related routines are published on my site.
Hope you will find some useful idea.
